Josh Groban

A long time ago my parents and their friends the Newsom's bought tickets to go to Josh Groban in SLC. It ended up that both husbands couldn't come so they decided to take the daughters. Ashley and I were more than happy to have our arms twisted into going. I wouldn't say that Josh Groban is my favorite artist that I would listen to every day but I will say that his music moves me like no other, and he has an amazing voice. I just may have been moved to tears during his concert, with the live orchestra and everything you feel the music so deep. I learned that he also has a great personality and is pretty funny. It was such an awesome weekend. I'm grateful to have such an amazing mom. I'm a fan of girls weekends!!!

After a day full of shopping we ate dinner at Macaroni Grill

We stopped at this cookie place I love at the gateway to get the most delicious choco chip cookies ever. Although you can't take food or drink in I did seem to hide this giant box of cookies along with my water and two cameras. If felt so naughty but it was exhilarating at the same time. We went as far as to scope out which guy was peering into the bags the least. REBELS!!

My awesome cute mom. Thanks mommy for taking me I love you!!!!

Mom, Me, Jackie and Ashley sweating to death waiting to be swooned by Josh

When we sat down we thought we had decent seats to the stage little did we know this stage was going to come out of the ground directly in front of us and we were on the 8th row. We all died a little inside when we first came out that close to us. We weren't expecting it at all. He did songs on his big stage up front and the one by us. It was purely amazing!!!!

Happy girls we all had such a great time!!! I would totally go again.

We stayed the night in SLC got to sleep in and drive home in our sweats you can't ask for more than that!

Birthday Breakfast

I'm laughing at how many times we celebrated Brett's birthday. I love making excuses to spend more time with my cute husband. On the actual day of his birthday we went to breakfast and it was so delicious I'm not sure why we don't do it more! Brett got some golf passes for his birthday and he is becoming quiet the little golfer.

Cream cheese and strawberry crepes yes please!

Brett had cinnamon roll french toast. Holy delicious!

This is how good it was!

Chukars Baseball

Our friends Curtis and Tymeron took us to a Chukars game on Wednesday which was another little birthday celebration because it was Curtis's b-day on Tuesday and Brett's on Thursday. Brett grew up with Curtis and I went to high school with him so it was a lot of fun getting together as couples. It was such a fun evening and just great to get out and do something different. I love the baseball atmosphere and it was so nice outside. Thanks Smith's for taking us to the game we loved it!
*** We had front row seats right behind home it was great!

****** The night wasn't complete without some greasy fried food and ice cream

p.s. This post is a little slow because I dropped my beloved iphone in the toilet and it is no longer. I'm more devastated then I should be for an electronic device. It has taught me that I relay on my iphone for way too much but I know that isn't going to change. I'm waiting for the new iphone to come out which is rumored to be in a few weeks so I have a pay as you go phone in the meantime. There has been tears over this its been pretty traumatic. I'm holding strong because I hope the wait will be worth it.

The big 24!

Happy Birthday to the best husband ever! Today is Bretts actual birthday but we had to celebrate it last Saturday because he is working all week. I can't believe that he is 24! It seems so old because I feel like we should be 20. I'm very proud of him and all he has accomplished at such a young age.

We decided this year we wouldn't do anything extravagant for our birthdays so instead we planned a day of fun. In the morning we took my parents boat out to the reservoir with our friends Scott and Courtney. It was fun as always and Brett did an excellent job handling the boat. I was worried my anxiety would ruin the fun but I wasn't even nervous.

In the evening we were going to watch a movie in the backyard on a big screen with our friends, but the weather didn't turn out so we are going to postpone that part. Instead we went out to dinner and Brett got to enjoy his favorite hot wings that I never let him have ;)

Baby Sloan all ready to go. He was so good on the boat!

24th of July

The 3 couples in our neighborhood (aka. bengal view compound people) were put in charge of making our wards 24th of July float this year. I won't lie I grumbled through the whole process but now I realize that it wasn't that bad and it was worth the enjoyment that people got from it. Brett drove the float and the girls rode in the truck. We laughed so hard at how much the ward members on the float were enjoying themselves. It was so fun to hear people commenting on the float. We could hear little kids saying look it's a family tree. It was more rewarding than you can imagine to know people understood our float. We were all a little nervous. The best part is we didn't have to spend hardly any money. There weren't any guilty feelings when we threw it all away.

Emily and I trying to liven our dead "family tree" with tissue paper balls

Proof that the men did help we would have been in trouble without our handy men

I'm not sure why but Emily and I decided to race down the trailer which was on our sloped driveway in the office chairs. We have video of the entertaining race but I will spare you this time!

The theme was "faith of our fathers" so we did "who's in your family tree"

Cali drew us some seriously adorable pictures for our "family tree"

The women who made it all possible. So glad I have such great neighbors I love these girls!

Cousins!

One thing I love about the summer is we go out on the boat a lot. I always take pictures even though its all the same because I'm grateful for every time we get to go out. I have to take pictures to say we were there and we did and we loved it!

My cousins from Boise came into town so we hit the reservoir. It was one of the best nights I've been out there the water was glass and we were the only ones there.

Seriously look at how smooth that water is

Whoa this tube was ridiculous! So much fun! There was a lot of screaming that took place but most of it probably came from me.

Cute Babies

Our friends Chase & Janessa that have moved to Nebraska came back into town and we were so excited to meet their little guy Nixon. Isn't he seriously so adorable and snugly. We wish they didn't live so far away and we could see them more often. I couldn't get enough of baby Nixon I didn't want to give him up!

The other cute baby is our abby girl! Sometimes we forget that she is a dog and not a baby or maybe she forgets. We never get tired of her snuggles and coos of content.
